th350 swap

I'm looking into trading my 700r4 for a th350 and was needing to know if I could use the short tail version. If not can I switch the tailshafts out? Any help would be appreciated.

Transmission: TH350, 3500 stall

Axle/Gears: 3.73

If you can find a TH350 with the 9 inch tailshaft that is the simplest way to go.
