Assistance with a TH-200...

Hey all,

I have an 83 camaro that came stock with a carb'd 2.8l and a TH200 3 speed manual, i recently took apart my motor to rebuild it, but found out that its gonna be more than i wanted to spend on a motor that was only gonna be temporary till i got my 350 the way i wanted it, but now im wondering if it would be better for me to just drop in a 350 now, plain bare bone stock 350 in.. but my question is, will i be able to bolt it up to my th200? im not planning on doing brake stands, or drag racing, just to drive it around till i can buy a new transmission. i know the torque rating on it is low, but still, does anyone know if it will bolt up?

also, i tried searching, but for some reason, my computer wont let me search, and im sorry if this has already been posted. i browsed a little and couldnt find an answer.. thanks

-Jeremy

i'm pretty sure the 2.8 uses a different bellhousing pattern than a small block. the th200 is pretty weak anyways.
