Need some advice!!!

OK, The thing is that I took a 100 miles trip on friday and came back on sunday (interstate driving), everything was OK till I got stuck in city traffic, and then without apparent reason the transmission wouldn't shift from 1st to 2nd even making it manually untill it reached 4500 RPM
My transmission is a THM 700 R4 (MD8) year 92, today I had it checked with a mechanic and he said there was no problem at all, he took a test drive and the transmission worked fine.
Before that i've had some overheating problem, but I've already fixed it. could this be related???
I just want some advise on what should I do??? rebuild it or keep going on this one, maybe it's a warning for something

for the help you could give me, i'd really appreciate that!!

B-Rod.

wow that is interesting. from what you have said though it sounds like it may be an overheating problem with the transmission...do you have a transmission cooler by any chance?

Pretty much anything bad in a transmission shows up in the fluid - I'd be pulling the pan and looking for debris - sniffing the fluid to see if it's burnt...

I'm not sure if a bad/sticky tv cable would cause no shift - but I would be looking it over carefully - especially the ends...( perhaps the inner core is fraying?)...
