Car: 88 firebird formula
Engine: 305 tpi
Transmission: 700r4 with shift kit
Axle/Gears: 3.73 with eaton locking diff
eaton locking differential' whining sound
hi a couple months ago i blew out my limited slip diff. now i put a eaton locking diff with 3.73 gears. we changed all of the bearings and everything. but it makes a whining sound when you start to let off the gas. when you floor it it makes no noise. it only makes noise when you lightly have it on the gas or when you dont have it on the gas at all. why is it making that noise?

sounds to me like the gears werent set properly and are now worn down.
Who set up the new carrier when it was put in?
