Will this car have a 9"?
Hello,
The other day I was walking through my local Salvage yard, and I saw a Mercuery Capri 5.0L Turbocharged. It was in the line for the crusher, it has only months left, before its reduced to a pile of scrap. anyways, I was wondering does that car have a 9" ford rearend? I figured since its a 5L Turbo, that it just might. If it does then part of the car may be saved from the crusher.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Doubtful.
Equally doubtful that it's turbocharged if it has a 5.0, or that it has a 5.0 if it's turbocharged. AFAIK F*rd didn't put both features inthe same car, ever. Sounds like it's been the "beneficiary" of some enthusiastic sticker application.
Probably has the 8.8", like the other Fox bodies. (I'm guessing it's a Fox body, anyway.... one of my little brothers had about a 87 one of those for a little while...)

Depending what year it is, it might even just have an 8".
I have no idea what the 8.8 looks like. I'm assuming it has a rear removable cover.
The easiest way to tell an 8" from a 9" is to look at the bottom bolts/nuts of the center section. If you can remove all the bottom nuts with a socket then it's an 8" housing. A 9" housing needs a wrench to remove 1 or 2 of the nuts.
