uh oh... CLUNK!

ok so if im stoped and hit the gas hard it makes a loud clunk that you can feel before taking off. its almost like the driveshaft gets caught up or something.
i can feel/hear it more towards the tranny end but im not sure if its comming from there or the rearend.

any ideas??

Agreed. Check your tranny mount and universal joints. I would bet the farm that it is time for a new mount. I would recomend an aftermarket poly unit.

A broken mount doesn't always stand out with a tell tale failure. Look for small cracks in the rubber as well as prying on it a bit with a pry bar. if you can move the tranny then chances are it is broken. GM tranny mounts are notoriously weak and prone to failure. I had to replace the mount on my 3rd gen as well as my 4th gen.

I've had to change my thirdgen mount abut five times in the past eight years. Last time, I switched to the poly.
