i recently did a t56 swap and i was looking for a 5 speed shifter plate, the piece of plastic and boot that is in the inside of the car. they are kind of expensive and hard to find and i was wondering if anyone has ever made one? perhaps from their old auto shifter plate?

 

They're EVERYWHERE, in junk yards. Very very common.

Try looking in some of those.

I can't imagine how you'd make a stick one out of an auto one. I'd suggest looking for the right thing up front, rather than ruining the one you have and THEN looking for the right thing.

I guess maybe nobody around where you are ever wrecks one of these cars....

Look through the classifieds on this site, or eBay. You shouldn't have much trouble coming up with one.
