Rear End
Rear End
What kind of rear end is in the 91 Camaro RS TBI. The one with the 305 and the 700R4 Tranny. Is it the 9 bolt or what? I want to find a POSI CARRIER for it. Anyone know where I can find one of those for my car? I've searched, but found 85 Irocks, etc. Not quite sure if there the same or not.

it's a 10 bolt i'm pretty sure they only ofered 9 bolts until 89. also the 91-92's i believe have a 28 spline axle instead of 26 like the earlier ones. So you have to get a carrier from a 91-92. Maybe even a 4th gen carrier will work i don't recall.

count the number of bolts on it.
9 bolts were offered *after* '89. So it could be either.
I'd put my money on it being a 10 bolt though.
But yea, if you've got a 10 bolt, then it's a 28 spline unit. The ones from pre '89 have 26 splines, so the carrier won't work unless you take the axles too.
You can get axles from superior gear (off summit if you want), for ~$230 26 or 28 spline. A posi unit is ~$400 new.
