Is there a direct replacement for the T5?

I have done some searching, and was wondering if there is a better replacement for the T-5 gear box that would fit without much modification. I currently have an 89 350 TPi GTA 5spd and the main shaft bearing is gone. I figured I would just change the gear box since the clutch is relatively new. Basically what I want to know is; is there a direct replacement for the T-5 with better gearing that doesnt require modifications to the torque arm and shifter placement? Thanks

The t56 fits right it in; Except for the crossmember? I heard you need to modify the driveshaft or shorten it, I also heard that the shifter sits about 2/3 inches further back than the stock location. How does this fit on the interior of the car? Will the center console need to be modified as well? Thanks
