How to Plug Kickdown cable grommet?

Hey all,

I have a TH350 and want to run without the kickdown cable. How do I plug the grommet so it doesn't leak? I've searched and thought about it with no answers. I don't have a cable to bolt in, and a new cable is $40. Any ideas?

you need the TV cable for the transmission to shift right. withought it your shift pints will be abnormal and might wear out the tranny faster.

A TH350 doesnt have a TV cable. Its only purpose is kickdown and for the most part is useless.

Now on the other hand a 700R4 uses the cable to "know" what the motor is doing and will burn up and shift like crap without it.

Yeah I think most people confuse the old TH350 and the newer styles. The kickdown cable is only activated when close to WOT to kick the tranny down into passing gear. With my little S10 I never need to kick it down. My dad mistakenly got on the gas hard enough to kick it down once and it wasn't pretty. Anyway I just found a cheap cable for $20 to shove into the grommet. Problem solved!
