Torque Converter questions
I have now convinced myself to buy a new torque converter, but have come across the fact that I have absolutely no idea what model my transmission is. It is just the standard 4sdp auto that came in 86 camaro sc's. Anyone know? And while im thinking ahead, what would you recommend for a stall speed? I don't race at the track but mostly just stop lights or from a roll, LOTS of room to race down here, I mean miles and miles of straight road. Not sure if use is a factor, but thanks.

The trans that origionally came in your car is a 700r4. If it is an 86 model, it should be a 30 spline , 12 inch, lock up style converter. 2500 stall speed is a nice street/strip, streetable converter. Bigger is not always better. You will like a little extra stall speed.
You can also look at the trans pan and count the bolts. 16 bolts and a rectangular(almost square) pan is a 700r4
