4L60-E wiring interchangeability?

I'm doing an LT1 swap into my '86 Z. I'm using a 1997 LT1 with an OBDI PCM and sensors, as well as a 1997 transmission modified to drive both a mechanical speedo and use a VSS. I was told not too long ago that the wiring and the solenoids in the tranny are different between OBDI and OBDII cars and that I would need to change them to make it work. I've also heard that it will work without the changes.

Using a OBDII harness converted to OBDI, will it work with the 1997 4L60-E or no? I guess I'm wondering if the differences are in the connector or in the solenoids and wiring itself.

I hope I can do it cheaper than that... for $700 I'll get a T-56!
