700 R4 question!

Can you make a 92 7004R work in a non computer controlled carb set up? Or do I need all the wires and whatnot?

Car: 83 T-Top w/ 85 Z-28 and 91 RS parts

Transmission: 700-R4 (unless i find a t-56)
Axle/Gears: from the Z
yes. do a search for the wiring you need to make the torque converter lockup work (basically a couple of switches and a plug for the tranny) and go for it. i will assume that it is a 700 and not a 4L60E, you will know by the absense of a round 14 pin plug on the pass side and the presence of the tv cable

I havent recieved it yet, suppose to meet a dude on the 9th of Aug. I already knew I had to wire up a lockup for the TC but is that all I have to do though?

anybody know which switches and wire? have recently aquired an 83 Camaro. Problem is that it doesnt shift right, It pulls good.. I beleive the transmission is an electric shift and the moror has been changed to a 305 carb with no computer, Is there anything I can hook up to the tranny to make it shift correctly, If not, what kind of transmission fits in this car with torque arm and all, length ect..Obviously im not too familliar with 3rd gens..any help would be appreciated..Thanks..Chuck

ps im not sure of the transmission type at all, sppedometer jumps around if that means anything

not to be rude, but a search should help tremendously

Your 83 is guaranteed not to be computer or electric controled shifting
If it's an overdrive is probably a 700R4
Make sure your TV cable is properly adjusted
