Today my car started doing something very weird. When i start it up it idles fine in P and N but when i put it in Drive it jerks like as if it is trying to take off with me and then it bogs the motor down and dies. It does fine in reverse and has no problems. Could this be my TCC locked up, I did a few searches on this and that is the only thing i could think it would be. If this is the problem should i check the power to the switch on the break pedal first or what. I am by no means a tranny expert, they are my weakpoint. Thanks for any help.

Could be a converter going south on you.
Odds are on the TTC being stuck on.
Any scanner should tell u if its locked up or not.
If not, simply unplug the 4 pin tranny connector at the trans and drive the car and see if the problem goes away. If it does more than likely it is electrical in nature.

Today i went to go unhook the connector on the tranny but once i got under the car and started looking for it it was already unhooked by the previous owner i guess. I backed it off the trailer and started it and it drove like nothing had ever happend to it. So the only thing I can think of is that it got really hot from the drive to the track yesterday (about 70 miles) and apparently it had no lock up in it with that being unhooked. Today i ordered a 2500 stall converter for it because I have been wanting one for awhile and with it doing that last night I just decided that it would be a good time to get one. I dont know what I am going to do about the TCC being disconnected because there are no wires to be found for it, and I talked to a guy that owns the shop that put my rear end in and he said as long as I dont drive it any really long distances for it to get really hot that it should be fine without the lockup in it.
