how to tell what 10 bolt i have?
if i post the part number on the rear end can someone tell me the spline i have and year? here is the deal i bought this car a few years ago and when i pull the rpo codes from the vin it says this car came from the factory with a 9 bolt borg warner and a regular drive shaft. this car has a aluminum drive shaft and a 10 bolt rear end. when i first got it i put 3.73 gears in it but i can not for the life of me remember what size and splines it has in it. im looking at putting either a spool or new posi unit in it. if someone can help that would be great thanks

As Sofakingdom would tell you: nothing on the outside will tell you with 100% certainty what's on the inside. You know it's not the original housing so who's to say someone hasn't swapped the inards? You'll have to open it.

If it's in a thirdgen, it's a 7.5/7.625" 10 bolt. That doesn't tell you anything about the spline count, though.
