Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Gets asked once in a while. There used to be a pic of where somebody did it.

Given that the rear of a 4th gen and the rear of a 3rd gen are essentially identical, then whatever worked in the 4th, should come close to working in a 3rd.

By the tmie your done spending money on the conversion, you could have bought a decent c4.

After spending nearly 10 years modding thirdgens, everything from engine to aftermarket control arms, k-memebrs, trying to get rack + pinion to work, combating rust - I said to myself "man, GM made a car that solves all this. And it isnt much more expencive than a fbody"..

Seriously. Don't try to make a camaro into a corvette, or a ferarri, or any other silly thing. You'll just drain your pockets, and hurt the resell value when someone doesn't want to deal with your (potentially unsafe) one of a kind creation.

Do it.

Dimensionally, its almost an exact fit.

Just got to figure out what to do with the Vette IRS spring :-)

Get rid of that, fab mounts and away you go.

Vettes to me were garbage, are garbage and always will be garbage:-)

Maybe one day GM can build a car I can fit in and my attitude will change. Until then I just take the good stuff from the Y body that I can.

Oh yeah, I also fit in Birds and Camaros nicely

later

Getting in and out of the vette is kinda a pita. I saw a shirt the other day that I shoulda bought. "not so lean, no longer that mean, but still a MARINE".

Anyhow. It's his money. good luck!
