Drum 10 to Disc 10 housing compatability question.

I was wondering if a drum brake axle and a disc brake axle are interchangeable housings? I have an adapted disc brake setup from a 9 bolt rear on a 10 bolt now and I am looking into getting a better setup 10 bolt drum rear. Can I bolt up my discs to the drum rear and call it a day or do I need to change all the internals and use my disc housing instead??

The axle flanges are different on the disc and drum rears.

So the only housing compatible with a disc rear is another disc rear. That sucks. Guess I'm looking for some internals. Axles and evrything else still matches up though right?

You could modify the drum flange to mount the disc backing plates.

im gonna be doing a swap from drum to disc,. and from what ive heard its as easy as could be ,.,.all you need is a proportioning valve ,.its been said many times over that "to replace the rear end is easy" even doing a conversion".,,.perhaps im misunderstanding this topic and if so please disregard this post.,,.but yeah its sounds easier to replace the rear in my opinion then to modify or fabricate the drum.,.,but dont quoat me on that i could be compleatly wrong and im sure somone here will correct me ....LOL
