4+3?? What is it exactly?
I was browsing some c4 vette listings and was wondering what the 4+3 manual trans is? What model is it and is it a 4 speed? Why is it called a 4+3?

Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 4L60
Axle/Gears: 14 bolt with 3.07 gears
It is a 4 spd manual transmission with a computer controlled OD box on the end, giving 7 forward speeds.

OK, doent's sound so great, maybe thats why they arent around anymore?
I was thinking maybe it was just a stupid way of saying 3 speed plus overdrive 4th.
