Corvette 4+3 tranny

I just got a corvette 4+3 tranny and a l98 from a friend of mine. Everything works fine so would it be worth using it. I'm sure its stronger than the t 5 andcthey did use these in the callaway corvette. And can I use my t5 pedals. Thanks

The 4 spd part is a BW Super T10 , a very durable , if clunky shifting trans used in many Hp cars and for racing for many years.
It has a 2 spd O/d unit on the rear which can give known problems.
There is no trans mount position on the trans so if it does fit the tunnel you need to fab a custom mount / cross member to hold the trans up.
Possibly need a bellhousing / clutch from a T10 equipped 3rd Gen

Will also need a custom shifter because the 4+3 shifter mounts to the trans tunnel ; not the trans tailshaft as most shifters do

Controlling the O/d is the easy part of a swap; a simple On/Off switch and relay is all you need

Re: Corvette 4+3 tranny

The trans is a T-10.

The overdrive thing is WEEEEEEK... they were a major warranty problem back when they were new.

I don't recall whether Callaway was doing whatever they did while that thing was available. A more appropriate question to ask though, in terms of phrasing, would be, did Callaway ever modify any cars that had that in them. Callaway was just a dealer, and all they did was to work up some of the Vettes they sold. But I can't recall; the earliest I can remember Callaway Vettes was maybe 91 or so, by which time that thing was no longer available if memory serves.

Can't say about the pedals, but if it uses a hydraulic actuator, they should work with it. Of all the problems you will encounter though, that is pretty far down on the list.

You will encounter MAJOR fitment problems involving the torque arm, the shifter, drive shaft, and who knows what all else. MAJOR. Definitely NOWHERE CLOSE TO a bolt-in. My recommendation would be to sell it and use the cash to buy something you CAN use; a LT1 T-56 would be the best choice IMO.

The twin turbo was a factory available option (B2K ) '87 -'91 with the cars sent straight from the factory to have the work done by Callaway
before being sent to the dealership.
'84 - '88 cars had the 4+3 trans
