i think i finally killed the 10 bolt

When i got the car, the gears always howled like a bitch. Well now...only at 58-60 mph i hear scraping..its wierd. The only way to describe it is if you jack your car up and spin the tire and you hear the pads touching the rotor and that slight scraping noise...it's like that, just super loud. Its coming from the driver's side. It seems to not be there at lower speeds though i think i may have heard it at like 40. I also hear what sounds like whirling when im rolling and apply the gas at like 20. Im thinking it has something to do with my axel...any comments? The scraping also gets much much louder when i apply the gas which makes me pretty dead set on it being the rear. I know the howling stops when im off the gas and when i reapply it its loud as all hell. I had a friend ride with me as well and he said it was deff coming from the drivers side.

if she's being chewing since day one, something has probably finally gone. Bearing, gear, etc.

It's usually an issue with one of the pinion bearings if it only makes noise with a load applied or when coasting. If it is your pinion bearings, you'll be spitting out ring and pinion teeth pretty soon.
