700R4 transmission issues
I have a 700R4...when I got to shift between drive and into over drive it really makes a loud noise and slams into overdrive...If I let off the gas and let the rpms drop way down then it doesn’t do it....anyone have any ideas??
One person told me it might have to do wit the torque converter...

The governor, servo and valve body are about the only things that you can service without dropping the trans. If it is internal, what it is, is unimportant. Removing the trans, disassembling it, finding the problem and reassembling it is the same amount of labor as a rebuild. That is why trans shops are quick to sell you rebuilds instead of repairs. Parts are cheap, labor is the killer.
