Re: How would YOU build a 10 Bolt?

I own a 89 iroc since new. Recently noticed a leak in the rear diff. Cover as well as dirty oil. So not sure if the is any benefit to swapping in a 4th. gen. as I have rear disk, posi, 3.73 gears. However my thought is with 339000 on the car preventative/ upgrade may be in order. Slight modifications,rv cam, bbs throttle body,headers,3” exhaust. Your thoughts

other than leaks does yours work OK? I added a Tom's differentials alum cover and a torsen unit out of 4th gen to mine, not a whole lot can be done to the 7.5" rear

Yes it seems to be fine, however with 339000 km. I feel there has to be something worn out. This winter I plan on raising the car to pull the tranny( main seal leak) and I have to replace the fuel pump. So I have no problem dropping the axle . If that is not necessary then gear inspection and possible change.
