Car: '88 Camaro
Engine: 5.7 L98
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: Borg Warner 9 bolt w/3.27 lim. slip
700R4 to T5 swap smog prob?
If/when I swap out the auto trans. in my 5.7 IROC to a 5 speed will the smog police come and get me? No seriously, am I going to have an issue with smog? I'm sure I'll have to do some PROM work to tell the computer about the swap, but if I burn a SMOG chip, shouldn't I be OK?

U should be, BUT ive heard california inspectors can be total bitches
i dont think they need what type of tranny only the engine, thats how myn went. (mass ) /shrug

I want it to look like a factory 5 speed from above. I will pay some to do that for me if need be. Other than looking at the vin# I want it to look like a 5speed 5.0. Anyone in CA. ever do this and have any issues with smog??
