Idle issues
Here's my story: I have an '89 IROC convertible with a 5.7L swap and the stock T-5 tranny. I recently had it in to have the A/C compressor replaced. After about 20 minutes driving time (all city) from the time I picked it up, the thing began dropping to 500 rpm or less and stalls every time I took it out of gear. I've had it back in ther twice now to have the idle speed adjusted. It is not at the point where it is ste at 2100 rpm(!) just to keep at actually at 800 out of gear. Besides looking for a new shop, any suggestions? Does this sound like TPS issue? Is it a coincidence that just weeks after this my clutch bit the big one?
do a search on idle related problems and post this one of the engine forums.....

and no, an idle problem would have nothing to do with the clutch.
