i was thinking about swaping my 5 speed for a street/strip built th400 either way with the new motor i need a new tranny so.... has any one ever done a manual to automatic swap ?
the shifter should line up with the hole in the tunnel for the manual tranny right ?

and dont say keep a manual tranny lol automatic would make it easier on everything includeing me lol

 

I am about to embark on this very journey. I'm starting a thread asking what is going to be needed to do the swap. Just remember, there's a lot of extra stuff you're going to need like a new starter, flexplate, and something to control the converter lockup. So it's not going to be easy but I believe it will pay off in the long run. I'll keep you posted on what I find out.
