Damn it! What did I do?
Last night me and my friend were cruisin in the iroc and a se-R pulled up next to us at a stop light, so my friend was kind of egging me on to put this clown in his place and so the light turned green and we both kind of hit it, but we had been coming up to traffic about a 3/4 of a mile down so we were going to let off at any time and then all the sudden a car had kind of cut me off so I had to let off the gas real quick, and when I went to make the turn to go home, I noticed when I accellerated from 2600rpm+ it would slip like crazy as if it was in nuetral, and it did this in drive and overdrive(350 bolted up to a 700r4 by the way) but only when it got to abouve the 2500 mark on the tach. Now when we had pulled over to see what was going on, we didnt see an tranny fluid dumping anywhere, not even any drips and the car was strong in 1st and 2nd gear and pulled through the whole powerband its just the D and OD that was slipping. So i added some tranny fluid and let it sit overnight to see if I had any stains under the car this morning so i can somewhat tell where it could possibly be leaking from, and I saw nothing not a single drop. And when I drove around the block it worked like it was b4 but then 15mins into driving it started slipping the same way again.
Any ideas what it could be? I'm thinking a seal is blown somewhere but I don't really have alot of experience with trannys?
Also when I checked the tranny dipstick I noticed there were tiny little air bubbes at the end of it and I've never seen them on it before and I don't really think that is common unless I just didn't notice which I highly doubt would be the case.
Thanks john

and by the way we only raced for about an 1/8th of a mile if that until the car had cut me off, I idnd't want to sound liek some a$$ racing around in heavy traffic for 3/4 of mile. This was at around 12am'ish on an empty road (glen cove rd. if you live on long island and know the area). adn traffic was about 3/4 mile up ahead of us by the time I had to let off.

If i'm correct i think your 3th & 4th clutch are burn did you smell your tans. oil.
I experience the same problem this summer and it was the 3-4 clutch i think
it's time to rebuild your 700R4..., by the way it's a common problem on 700R4
put in better clucth, better oil pressure and parts when you overhall it !
Good luck !
Ho! and tell me how much it will cost for the rebuild, Thanks !

My brother in law paid $1100.00 to have his done. But that was in his truck that tows his 5th wheel, and they put all top of the line parts in.
I wanted to have mine rebuilt in my Trans Am, Maybe ill wait a lil bit.

burnt 3rd & 4th gear clutch discs. I did the same thing 3 years ago while crusiing on the highway. I accelerated and POOF. RPM's jumped and I noticed heh, I'm not accelerating any more. 1st and 2nd worked as strong as they ever did. This was a stock 700r4 with only 30,000 miles on it. They don't call them slushboxes for nothing. Get a B&M rebuild kit and go to town.
