TV cable question
I'm wrapping up a TBI to TPI conversion and replaced the TVcable as is the norm but have a question that needs answering. I installed the new cable and when I went to adjust it nothing happened. I pressed the "D" and slid the black slider back as far as it would go. I then released the D and rotated the throttle to WOT and no ratcheting took place. The cable itself came out but not the slider. I also have what I think is an unusual amount of slack in the cable. I have confirmed that the cable is connected to the throttle valve in the trans as it retracts after I pull on the cable and then release it. Is this normal for a TPI TV cable? Is there some way I can adjust the slack out or is some amount of slack needed and if so how much? After the crap I went through just getting the correct accelerator cable I'd hate to go through it again for the TV cable. Any suggestions?
