S10 Transmission Question

A friend of mine has a camaro that needs a transmission. He wants to know if the automatic transmission out of a 1987 chevy s10 2wd 2.8 work in an 85 chevy camaro 2.8 or are the tail shafts or other parts different or incompatible? Also, what would he need to change in order to make it work, other than the piece on the tailshaft that the torque arm mounts to?

I sold a 700r4 out of an 88 2.8 s10 to a guy for a 88 or 89 firebird v6 and it fit fine. I sold it to him on a sat morning and he drove it by my house that evening and said that everything matched up fine.

Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Pretty interesting story, considering that the T-5 in the F body is rotated 18 degrees different from the S truck version, and the S truck version's shifter pad is about 6" in front of where it should be in a F car. Also, the S truck version has no provision for the torque arm.

No, it won't work.

Who said anything about a t5, hell you can look at those and tell that theyre way different. I am talking about a 60 degree v6 700r4.
