Problem wiring the cableX box

I just did the T56 swap. My problem is I don't see how to properly wire the cable X box. Do both wires (white and black) get connected to the 2 wires from the VSS sensor? I don't know which one is the signal wire or ground wire. One is purple the other is yellow. On the instructions it has the ground side of the sensor also wired into a chassis ground. And does the red one get powered to 12Volts? Why can't you just connect to the sensor instead of running another seperate wire to chassis ground? Anybody with the cableX box can you help me please?

Red wire gets IGN 12V, black wire gets ground, and the white wire gets the signal wire from the VSS. One of the VSS wires is the signal and the other is a ground.

I guess I am over analyzing the wiring. I will wire it the way I think it should go and see what happens.
