Well I started my car up today it was 24 degrees, car revved up to 1500rpm and would not come down. (HIGH RPM AT START OIL PRESSURE WAY UP AT 60) I put her into overdrive and start down the street. I was driving fine, heard/felt a thump and I was never able to shift to the net gear. Its still in first and as I am going along, it just keeps climbing up the rpms. It usually shifts into second at 20 25mph. Well it never did and went all the way to 3000-3500 and then shifted to 2nd. Mind you this was at like 10-15 miles an hour. "Wtf is wrong with my car now..." is all I can think. I get on the road and drive to STRAUSS AUTO for free TRANS Diag. they took to long my step dad comes around and tells me it’s the governor. I read SERVICE MANUAL AND IT TELLS ME TO ADJUST TV CABLE(DON’T KNOW HOW TO).

I pull cable from carb side and spray carb cleaner on cable area. I pull cable again while car is on (HIGH RPM AT START OIL PRESSURE WAY UP) I keep pullin an sprayin WD40, I THOUGHT I fixed it. Took it round the block same thing happens. I can’t go fast anymore.

Im heart broken.

Any Ideas?????

 

Did you let the car warm up at all? Trannys dont like to be cold either.

 

Not that time nor the second time.

I drove the car around to different places it got warmed up later but after 1 hour of driving the car @ 20 mph and 2200rpm, I parked it.

I'm trying to get info before I take it to a trans shop, so I wont get ripped off
