clutch fork pivot
i am installing motor and trans into a buddys 97 Z 28 to make somemore money to put into my 86Z-28. i know its a fourth gen but hopeing someone who has installed this set-up can help. it is an lt-1 350 with a t-56 6 speed. the problem i'm having is what and how does the clutch fork pivot on? i've only worked with i guess the old style that has a pivot ball on the bell housing. i did not remove this from the car and the guy who did is long gone. any help, pic's or sites that might have this info would be helpful. my buddy has no clue and either i'm missing some parts or ???? tom

the clutch fork for the LT1 t56 is attached to the tranny. It pivots with the help of a single bolt and this piece of material that looks like the letter T. There is also a clip that is attached to the fork itself. The fork is bolted to the tranny and it just hangs loose. Once the tranny is 95% of the way installed, the fork can then be pushed upward into the TO bearing and it snaps into place. It MUST be secured correctly or you will have big issues once you push the pedal down. Try lookng for a pic on camaroz28.com. This setup can be a major PITA sometimes. I have installed my tranny about 30 times and half the time it slips right on and other times I need to go kick the dog.
