Ford T5???

Anyone ever try bolting an F-body tailshaft and bellhousing to a Ford case and gears? Or is something different on the inside and it wouldn't work? Are the Fords weaker, stronger, or basically the same as an Fbody one?

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly sure the trans to bellhousing bolt circle is probably different between the two. I'm sure an f-body tailhousing would bolt up to a Ford T5, but who knows if the Ford mainshaft is the same length, or if the output seal diameter would work either with a Ford slip yoke. Strengthwise, the GM f-body WC T5's and the Ford WC T5's are pretty much dead even with each other. The only one that may be maginally stronger, like maybe 25-30 ft. lbs., would be the Ford Cobra Z-Spec T5's. From everything I've read and seen, it's not even worth the hassle to try and get a Ford T5 to work in a GM f-body.

The input shaft is different, and is only interchangeable if you find one that has the same tooth count. The shift linkage rod will also be different length, as the shifter is in a different location, and yes, the output shaft is also a different size.
