What fluid to run after manual trans rebuild?

Hey guys,
I just wanted to ask what do you guys recommend for fluid after rebuilding a T5 - regular ATF or synthetic ATF?
Is there any concerns when using synthetic oil in a fresh trans as there are when for example ,breaking in a freshly rebuilt engine? TIA
Andrew

Gear Oil for a non-world-class '83-'87 T5, and automatic trans fluid for a World-Class '88-'92 T5. Use synthetic fluid if you want.

There was a lengthy thread about this topic some time ago--and IIRC, no real consensus appeared. For example, the shop manual for my 85 recommends AFT, not gear oil. I'm using Mobil 1 AFT with no ill effects.
