Rear end/gear question?

I have a 1991 GTA and would like to find out what type of rear end I have to get some 4:10 gears (I have a 6 speed). I'm pretty sure its a 10 bolt and came with 3.42 gears stock. I am going to buy the Richmond set and want to verify that I need to get the gears that fit it correctly. Richmond offers 2 versions of the 4:10's, the first part # is 49-0009-1, that fits the 3:08 and numerically lower carrier, and # 69-0322-1 that fits the 3:23 and numerically higher carrier. I think the second gear set is the one I need?
This question was probably asked before and i did do a search and came up with 49673409306 possibilities. Thanks.

Check your RPO codes, the code stamped on the passenger side axle or better yet, pull the cover off of the rear end and find the stamping on the ring gear to identify what gear set you currently have. If you are certain that it's a stock 3.42, you have a 3 series carrier and need to order parts to match. 3.08 gears and lower, 2 series carrier, which requires a thick gear.
