2 piece 4th gen driveshaft in a 3rd gen

I know. I know ...... aluminum driveshafts are the thing .... can a V-6 2 piece driveshaft fit my 3rd gen ? the torque arm looks about the same, it even looks stronger than my 3rds .... Love the way my 1997 camaro just cruises up to a 100 and no driveline noise or vibrations. I realize a 4th gen torque arm MUST be used due to the carrier bearing, but is it really a bolt in ? ... I realize the LT1 never used this due to the power it had ( possibly ) but I really don't even drive my car hard at all ..... anyone ever tried this ?
