27 spline - 28 spline posi G80
i bought a g80 with a 28 spline and i think i have a 27 spline axle. Is this going to cause any problems?
Also what kind of gears should i install? i was thinking 3.73 but i have overdrive so i was thinking 4.10's. I dont race a whole lot and it would be nice to drive on the highway. Theoretically i was thinking the overdrive would kick the 4.10s down to the 3.90s or 3.80s in regular driving conditions.

No such thing as a 10 bolt with 27 spline axles. Up to 1989, the axles are 26 spline. In 1990, GM changed the axles to 28 spline.
The 7.5" 10 bolt has a 27 spline pinion but that has nothing to do with the axles.
My daily driver truck has a 4L80E transmission and 4.10 gears but my tires are also 28" tall compared to a car size of only 26" tall.

G80 is just an RPO code for a posi.
If the posi carrier is for 28 spline axles then you can't use your 26 spline axles (82-89 third gen with a 10 bolt). You'll either need to find some axles from a 90-92 third gen or buy some aftermarket ones. If the posi carrier is for 26 spline axles then it will bolt right in.
