newb to trannys

so im lookin to hook up a 383 w/ nitrious, but i still wanna be able to drive it to and from shows/tracks. if i build a 700r4, will it be able to handle the 500+ hp engine and still have overdrive? im planning on getting a hurst dual gate shifter as well, i think thats a good shifter for my setup.

EDIT: if that tranny doesnt work, what should i be looking at, is there something that can handle highway driving?
thanks

If done correctly, absolutely. Dana @ Probuit can provide parts or complete transmissions to suit your needs. He is also a forum sponsor.

lol im a canadian, so shipping a built tranny would be expensive, where is this guy located? if he is close, i would be willing to drive to just about anywhere for one of these things.
