1984 Firebird TH-350 Questions

I have a 1984 Pontiac Firebird, from what I understand it has a TH-350, I need a rebuild kit, if you know a performance kit that includes everything necessary, that would be great, also any specific information

It is highly unlikely that it has a T350.

Look at the pan; and compare to these pics.

That site has alot of suitable kits.

84 would be a 700r4 if is automatic

the 200C was in 82 and 83 only

and 83 could be either 200C or 700r4

if it has a th350 in it now then someone put it in- because none of these cars got one from factory- not after 1981

my 82 t/a was a 200C car when i got it, i put in a th350 with 6" tail from a 77 chevy van, direct fit in place of the little 200C

good luck

I am positve it has a TH-350, but how would I know if it is a lockup or a non lockup?

Did you verify by checking the pan?

I am positive that while it's possible, it's highly unlikely. Unlikely enough that if you yourself did not put it there with your own hands and buy and install the specialized parts to enable it with your own money, it probably isn't.

A 350C converter has a big flat place on the surface where it mates to the flywheel; rather like what might be required to accommodate a clutch. A 350 converter is donut-shaped with no flat place.

You can find pictures of those converters, neither of which you probably have, on the same site that I posted. Go there and look at stuff and then look at your transmission and see if anything looks familiar.
