Recently, as I drive 30km/h+ my engine rev's wildly, like will shoot from about 1500RPM up to 3-4000RPM. It almost feels like as Im driving the car downshifts itself. Now I do not know much about mechanics, Im trying to learn as I go here so Im not sure if this is even a problem caused by the transmission. My car (an '89 Iroc with auto tranny) needs a new tranny mount, and I think might have a few problems with the exhaust. My questions are:
Is this problem caused by the transmission?
Could the tranny mount or exhaust be attributting to this?
