does anybody know what parts i will need?
also i was was told that if i was going to convert to automatic i would have to change the posi rear end as well is there truth to this?

No you do not have to change the rear end.
No doubt somebody wanting to go the other way (the usual swap) can supply you with all of the auto stuff they're taking out.

Assuming you're putting a 700R4 in, you'll need the transmission, dipstick, TV cable, torque converter, flexplate, cooler lines, cooler, shifter, shifter mounting brackets, interior console trim, and some sheet metal to patch the hole for the clutch on the firewall, and the hole for the shifter under the console.
