I was accelerating about half throttle and then it felt like the car went into neutral.

No gears work. It just revs like it's in neutral. Only park works.
Converter is spinning. The bolts didn't come loose.
Showed no signs of slipping or any other problems prior to this.
It had a stock rebuild before I bought the car. Probably 20,000 on the rebuild. Fluid still looks brand new and doesn't smell burnt.

I'm going to assume the Transmission pump broke. I removed one of the cooler lines from the radiator and fired it up and went through the gears - no fluid came out of the line.

If the pump broke and didn't supply pressure/fluid is it likely that it took the rest of the Transmission out with it? or can I get away with just replacing the pump?

Front Pump. Just repaired my daughters, same symptoms. Oh, and the front pump fragged because the valve body gasket cracked, allowing line pressure to go places it's not supposed to go.

 

umm...did you buy that tranny off the internet or is that still the origional tranny but w/ a shiftkit?
