700r4 tranny lines what can I use ?

I was wondering I anyone uses anything other that steel lines for there transmission. I tried putting in my hedman long tube headers yesterday and the tranny lines are right in the way. And rather then getting new steel lines and have to bend them is there any safe and reliable flex lines out there ?

I've got braided stainless hose for my cooler lines. Reinforced rubber hose would be a lot cheaper, but just as effective.

You should be able to get it easily enough, tell them you want transmission cooler hose, or power steering return hose. Regular worm clamps will work fine. The fittings in the rad and the transmission are 5/16" inverted flare, you'll need adapters with hose barbs.

Ive seen this done on a car, (A-body actually). Would be a little trickier on a F-body to do, but this fellow ran the lines through his frame and exited just before the tranny. This way, he didnt have to worry about any heat getting to them, the rubber was already reinforced, but now it was shielded as well.

"Out of sight and out of mind" i beleive is the best way to describe it. Food for thought!

They're mostly concerned with fuel lines, other fluids they don't pay much attention to.
