Axel swap; Are these the same?

There is alot of info on here for the 9-bolt. Search "drain89" But I need to know if 2nd series carrier AXELS (i.e. tall gears) are interchangeable with 3rd series carriers (i.e. short gears). "All 9-bolts are 28-spline"; in respects of O.D. and Length? Daily Driver is wasting away without axels!!!

To keep it simple... would a factory 2.73 posi 9-botl axel convert to a factory posi 3.27? Both being Borg Warner.

The axles should be the same regardless of which carrier it was.
