Re: Dual Clutch Transmission

its like an automated manual transmission
its basically like a manual transmission but without a clutch pedal
the driver basically tells it when to up or down shift or leave it completely up to the computer

Re: Dual Clutch Transmission

All your are doing is making your automatic transmission not automatic anymore, it has nothing to do with a manual (stlye) transmission...

Re: Dual Clutch Transmission

Any automatic shifter is fine... Whatever floats your boat really, even the stock auto shifter is fine unless you want a slap/ratchet shifter...

Re: Dual Clutch Transmission

you just need a manual valve body and virtually any aftermarket shifter.

Re: Dual Clutch Transmission

Actually, I have some good news for you!!

You already have an automatic transmission that you can shift through the gears!!

All automatic transmissions alow you to upshift, and downshift, and, also leave it in drive so it will shift itself. If you get a manual valve body, you have to upshift and downshift manually all of the time. IE: if you come to a stop with the shifter in 3rd, (drive) you will start out in 3rd.

Re: Dual Clutch Transmission

a tiptronic shifter will do jack for you unless you have a tiptronic trans with all the electronic crap.. but with that guy.. it can work that way.. theres also some shift kits that allow you to be more in control than stock..

or you could just stop being a weenie and get a stick.. just kidding.. but IMO, sticks are WAY more fun to drive.. harder to hook up but more fun

Re: Dual Clutch Transmission

A manual vb is NOT reccomended for street driving. There are many issues with using one for continued street driving. If you want full manual control in a mostly street driven car, swap in a manual trans.

What ever you do, stay away from Monster Transmission. - If you do a search you'll find many reasons why.....

uhhh, No offence but do u have a idea whats going on, What he was describing was a manual valve body, in which u use a aftermarket shifter to shift into each gear, his example was when coming to a stop if u left it in third gear u would start out in third gear.

My Advice: do some research
