anyone recommend a book and tools
i am wanting to switch out my rear end from an open 3.23 to a posi 3.73. i already have the posi and gears, does anyone know what a good book would be that would tell me step by step what to do? also what specialty tools would i need?

i use a chiltons most of the time. also have a motor with a good how to section in it. you'll need a pinion setting tool or something to use for a datum and a depth mic or caliper with depth rod, but i tihnk the caliper would be a little shaky to use. some sort of home made tool to hold the yoke, or you could hack it up with a pipe wrench. you'd need bearing spliter and a press, or farm it out to a shop. a 0-1 mic is handy to have plus you'd need a mag base and indicator. to set preload you'd need a dial type in/lb torque wrench as well as a standard ft/lb torque wrench.
