Kicks out of 1st
Anyone have any idea as to why my car will kick out of first. It only does it on takeoff if you slowly ease off the clutch. If you come off quick, it doesn't do it at all, but then it usually "slips" the tires. I was told the linkage might need adjustment. Any clues would help. Thanks

Nobody can help? I know someone out there has had to have had this problem before.
Re: Kicks out of 1st
I had a similar problem before... didn't matter whether I eased out the clutch or not though. Basically sometimes it worked normally, and sometimes it would make a loud BANG and the shifter would damn near break your hand when it smacked your palm. Ended up taking it to a tranny shop and they opened it up to find that the 1st/2nd shifter fork had broke. Luckily the chunk settled in the bottom of the case instead of getting in the gears and chewing er up! Fork was replaced, problem fixed.
Hope ya get er figured out!

Re: Kicks out of 1st
Took off my center console and shift boot to do a little looking and found a B&M shifter. Kinda cool to find, plus the shifter was hitting a cover plate in the odd gears, little bit of shaving with the dremel, and it doesn't hit anymore. So hopefully that solves the problem.
