Yet another speedo question

Hi folks. I have browsed for problems similar to mine but could not find any.

I have some problems with my speedometer. I have replaced the wire and gear in the transmission, but there are still no reading. I have checked to see if the speedometer works by rolling the backside of the speedo and it moves when I do that. Could it be problems that are further inside the tranny or could it be something else?

I screwed everything as tight as I should to the tranny, and the "clip" is connected in behind the speedo bundle. I still get the VSS code (code 24) but I assume that its because that the speedo is not reading anything. I also assume that replacing the VSS will not make the speedo work. What am I missing?

Help is accepted with gratitude.

Perhaps the speedo cable itself has gone bad.

I would check the cable and the if you still cant find the problem I would change the speedo.

Re: Yet another speedo question

The speedo cable is brand new. But I can take a look at it again I guess. I guess the best thing to do is to remove the wire and check if its turning or not.
