Dakota Digital SGI-5c
I recently purchased the sgi-5c calibration box for my t56 swap. As I searched for answers on here I noticed that many people including me were having a tough time hooking this thing up. Well after trial and error I figured it out and maybe others can use this info to help them hook it up. I hooked it up to a 1987 pontiac trans am with a t5 originally. So here it goes.
Power: to 12v only with the key on. (IGN power)
Ground: to a good ground under the dash
Sensor Ground: cut the purple wire from the buffer box harness and hook it
to this.
Input: cut the yellow wire from the buffer box and hook it to this one.
Output 3: cut the green with black stripe from buffer box and connect it to
this
Output 4: Cut the brown wire from buffer box and connect it to this.
Now make sure that all the dip switches are off except for number 3. Also you can completely unplug the buffer box from the rest of the harness and do whatever you want with it. I am not too sure where to connect the cruise control wire yet but its the red one and its supposed to be either 2000 ppm or 4000ppm. Then just follow the directions for fine tuning the speedo. Like I said I did this on a 1987 trans am with a t5 im not sure if it'll be different on others but I hope this helps some.
