Not Downshifting at correct RPM/Soft Shifts

After I took my 5.0 TBI out of my car and put the 350HO GMPP crate engine into it, I wondered if the transmission would need help. I put an edge TC on with a 2500-2800 stall as well. I got a new carburator as well, an edelbrock 1411(750cfm).

I got a Lokar TV cable, and adjusted it like I was supposed to. Didn't shift properly. I was told those aren't perfect, so I got a TVmadeEZ from Bowtie Overdrives.

New TV cable assembly with new spring to ensure I don't get the dreaded short spring syndrome. Adjusted it all over the place, moving the "adjustable cam" to get different shifts. Still doesn't downshift properly. At 35, it should shift into 1st, but just bogs. Same with second. Won't downshift properly to let the engine build up RPMs and take off.

Also, when I hold it to the floor, no matter what adjustment, the tranny holds the engine at 4500 or so RPMs while it takes a full second or two to shift. No quick shifts like before the engine swap. What has changed since I put the new engine in to take the shifts from firm to soft serve?

Re: Not Downshifting at correct RPM/Soft Shifts

FOUND OUT WHY... The "TV made EZ" cable doesn't work. The design makes the cable bind internally every time it's pulled by the throttle. Eventually, it binds so much it pretzels. When the knot tries to move up and down the shaft of the TV cable it gets stuck, and the cable no longer does its job. I've gotta get ahold of them and see if I can get a better quality item, or i'm goin back to the Lokar cable.
