Hey guys, I have a few questions regarding front wheel bearing and rear axle bearings.
First, I am in the process of replacing the rear axle bearings and seals. Should I pre-lube the bearings - say pack them with a light dose of synthetic grease to prevent any damage - The rear end is 'dry' after I pull it apart to get at the bearings and seals, and the fluid doesn't reach the bearings that fast....Is this a good preventative measure?

Second, with the front wheel bearings:
This is the first season that I am running the car on the track (road coarse), and I need to re-pack the front wheel bearings as after the first run with the car on the track, the cheap no-name brand grease that claimed to be a high temp broke down, turned into balck mush, and some ran out of the rotor . I want to re-pack these new bearings with synthetic Castrol grease - to clean out the old junk, what solvent should I use - would regular brake cleaner for example do the job without harming the bearings?

Yes, pack the rear bearings to prevent nuking them in the first few miles.

as for the fronts, you can use anything you want on the bearing, your not going to hurt it. brake cleaner or varsol should do the job.
